Every “View on eBay” button, listing card and eBay search link goes straight to the listing or search, with no affiliate or tracking code. No seller, maker, dealer or marketplace pays us for placement. If that changes, say we join an affiliate program, we’ll update this page and label the links before they go live.
Outbound links open in a new tab and carry rel="nofollow noopener". That tells search engines we aren’t vouching for any one listing, and stops the new tab from controlling this one.
Picks and listings
Where a model page has a “Which one to buy” section and a “For sale on eBay” grid, both come from a dated review of that model’s eBay listings. We pick on delivered price against the typical asking range, on condition and originality as described and photographed (the revision and region, signs of opening or mods, the label and the box, the controllers, cables and power supply that should come with it, whether it’s shown running on a TV), on how it will be packed and shipped, and on seller feedback. Overpriced listings and sellers we’d double-check get a warning tag. Sellers can’t pay to be picked. Each snapshot is dated, and some listings will have ended by the time you see them. The methodology explains how picks are made. Models we haven’t checked yet link to a plain eBay search instead.
AI-made product photos
Where we have one, the big photo on a model page is made by an AI image model from real seller photos of that model, and it’s labeled that way. It isn’t a photo of any listing, and the console or game you buy will look different. Judge condition and completeness from the seller’s own photos. The methodology has the details.
Selling to us
This site is part of allbutnew. The “Get an offer” links go to allbutnew’s shared offer form. Send us details of your console or games and our retro console expert replies by email with an offer or a straight no. You’re free to sell it anywhere else until you accept.
What we don’t do
- We don’t accept payment from sellers, makers or dealers to feature specific consoles, games or listings.
- We don’t show ads of any kind, including banners, display networks and pop-ups.
- We don’t sell or share data, and this site runs no analytics or tracking cookies.
- We aren’t affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Nintendo, Sega, Sony, Atari, Activision, Square, Konami or any other console or game maker. Product names, model numbers and trademarks belong to their owners and are used here for identification only.
Purchases and disputes
When you buy from a listing, the sale happens on eBay between you and the seller, and we aren’t part of it. Returns, refunds and not-as-described claims go through the platform’s buyer protection.
